strangely out of place: friendster edition

One of my former co-workers and fellow blogger Rain is into photography. I was browsing through his Flickr account and was amazed by his photographs. Really cool.

I also have several other people on my blog link list who are into photography, and several friends who are into it too. Seeing their work, and their enjoyment with it, makes me want to get into photography too. Maybe as a serious hobby, and not just using a simple point and shoot camera. Though maybe I’ll start there.

As a somewhat visual artist (and I say somewhat because I haven’t done any new drawings recently), I see photography as a way to capture the beauty of things that you encounter. Every so often I see something that makes me smile, or something really interesting that I’d just like to take a reminder of and share. I don’t just want to take a picture. I want to really show it in a great way that captures what I felt when I first saw it.
